Olivia Wotton
In 2002 Olivia graduated from the Surrey Institute of Art & Design, having studied silversmithing and jewellery. She had been designing and making jewellery as a hobby since and in May of this year decided to become a full time jeweller.Olivia creates her unusual jewellery by using a mixture of sterling silver, 9 & 18ct gold, Freshwater Pearls, Swarovski® Crystals & Pearls, semi-precious stones, locally handmade glass beads, fair trade Acholi beads, Miyuki Delicas seed beads, shells and ash wood from fallen trees on her parents farm near the village of Beeson in South Devon. All these materials enables Olivia to create a diverse selection of beautiful yet simple pieces, many of which are one offs'.
Olivia's main inspiration for her jewellery comes from the sea, beach and countryside around her home in South Devon. She finds inspiration from many unusual objects such as the age lines in a piece of wood, the patterns that bales of straw make when they are dotted around a field and tangled fishing tackle disregarded on a beach.
